Burleson swim across the Missouri River to establish Public Interest Network to fund student public interest grantsservice, 8 - 10:15 AM, Devils Hole, NE to Gavin’s Point, SD (followed by interviews with ABC News, SD Public Radio, and other members of the media), Sept. 4.

Public Interest Network Organizing Dinner, hosted by Professor Burleson, Sept. 13.

Co-hosted Public Interest Job Search Brown Bag Lunch, gave presentation on the Public Interest Network and career opportunities in public interest law. USD School of Law, 414 East Clark Street, Room 104. Collected and drafted materials, met with and advised students interested in Public Interest and public service work (2007-2008), September 19.

Public Interest Network Apple Picking. Students and Prof. Burleson went apple picking to provide fresh produce to local families struggling to adjust to higher food prices, 2:00 - 5:00 PM, held at Garritys' Prairie Gardens, Sept. 23.

Public Interest Network helped draft the outcome document for the Climate Change Conference in Sioux Falls, SD, Sept. 29 - 30.

First Public Interest Series Speaker: “The Bali Climate Conference,” presented by Prof. Burleson, detailing her discussions with the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs and UN Univ. in Tokyo, her work as part of the UNICEF Delegation to the Bali Climate Conference in Indonesia, and her International Law course taught to Chinese law students in Beijing, China, Jan. 9.
